Those who are interested in becoming a candidate for Queen Genevieve should respond to posters and newspaper announcements that will be distributed throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley inviting candidates, ages 17 to 22 years of age, to participate for the opportunity to earn scholarship money toward college.

The winner of the Queen Genevieve competition will be chosen by a panel of judges at the scholarship pageant to be held at Washington State Community College’s Auditorium, Saturday, August 27, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. The scores are tabulated by a local accounting firm. The selection of Queen Genevieve will be announced at the Coronation Ceremony, September 10, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. on the barge.

The Queen candidates must be enrolled in an accredited educational institution. We are pleased to be able to award this year’s winner a $1,500 scholarship, 1st runner-up a $750 scholarship, 2nd runner-up a $500 scholarship and two $500 scholarships to be used at Washington State Community College, for a total of $3,750.00 in scholarship money.
